For our blog HOP! I created this FUN 6×12 page that fits perfectly into Fun Stampers Journey Memory Easel. A few months ago we created the post card easel which fits two 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 post cards, well the memory easel was created to fit a 6×6 spread. It comes in a mat black finish and it is made 100% out of wood. This makes it perfect to add any color you wish an top or simply leave as is. I wanted more of a shabby chic look for this project so I added a coat of mat white, then once dry a splash of yellow. Once the entire piece was completely dry I sanded the edges to give me that distressed look!

I love the way that the Memory Easel will display any 6×12 project I create. Its great for special events and any holiday. The easel has a grove on top and bottom that where your pages can slide in and out of, making it easy to use time and time again. One of the stamp sets that I used is one that I created to benefit Charity Wings, Simply Fabulous is the large butterfly that you see to the right, it has a dramatic participation in this project..

The butterfly is a special technique that creates this 3D and almost porcelain like finish… all created with paper! LOVE IT! How about a side view?

Lots of FUN pieces make this home decor project a showcase piece. Now let me take you to the FUN glass pieces I created to showcase the inspiration of this project…

The above image is part of our ATS (Artist Trading Stamp) collection , its perfect for a verity of projects but specially for my page here. My little Andrew has quite the imagination and I just love his little eyes here…

Another ATS here this one is “Two is Better” you can view the entire ATS collection on the store section of my blog. Now for the side view, again the easel stands alone with two dowels that were created to fit in the back of the easel.

So here you can see the dowels in the back as well as the area where your project can slide in and out… WAY COOL!

Here is a quick tutorial on created the 3D butterfly…

Start by stamping your image on the desired card stock. I used our Whip Cream card stock as well as our TRUE COLOR FUSION Black Licorice, our inks are a fusion between Pigment and Dye, perfect for these type of projects… Make sure that you stamp your image with a large piece of card stock left over so that you can layer…

Add color to your stamped image if needed…

So give yourself at least 3 layers of card stock underneath the stamped image… Using your favorite white glue, apply the glue in between the layers adhering them together…

While the glue is still wet, cut out your image, you will need to be careful on the thinner areas but if the glue is still wet it will cut out smoothly…

Once you have cut out your project shape your butterfly or flower which ever you are doing to the desired shape. let dry completely. At this point if you wanted to you can come back with a black marker and go over all the edges… I wanted a softer look so I chose not to.
